Bio
Marc Bräutigam is a German guitarist, composer, and music industry professional whose career spans over three decades of genre-defining work in heavy metal, progressive rock, and beyond. Born in 1976 and based in Germany, Bräutigam has become known for his technical skill, melodic sophistication, and adaptability across metal subgenres.
Starting his journey in the early ’90s, Marc made his mark in bands like Infernal Curse, Asakku, and Ligeia, before co-founding progressive metal projects such as room41 and Everflow, both critically noted for their musical complexity. With later ventures including the instrumental outfit Jitterbug and alt-rock band Caps For Sale, Marc continued to push genre boundaries.
Since 2013, Bräutigam has been a driving force behind Germany’s thrash metal revival as a member of Exumer, contributing to albums such as The Raging Tides and Hostile Defiance, and more recently joined death-thrash outfit The Very End.
Parallel to his artistic output, Marc had been Head of Warehouse and Direct Sales at Century Media Records / Sony Music Germany for the past 15 years. There, he combined creative insight with logistical leadership, bridging artistry and commerce in one of metal’s key global hubs.
Marc holds a Magister degree in German and English Literature from Ruhr University Bochum, is a certified IHK trainer, and remains an active guitarist and songwriter—currently developing new material with Exumer and The Very End.
